On the mountains or back to gallery
Mont Sainte Victoire, painted by Cezanne between 1904 and 1906. An image coming directly from the deepest artist's mind, where the pure concepts become clear picture, and eventually clear imagine become painting. So this became in my mind THE mountain.
People go on the mountains looking for last fortress of wildlife, the more permanent magnetism of those timeless organism is in their vertical shape, like a huge finger pointing out the sky, bridging two world, the one slave of gravity, the other ideally forbidden to the man. I feel a chemical attraction for the crystalline kingdom of mountain, I access this vertical world with the natural respect for a huge brother, so tall and so friendly strong, and so dangerous when in a bad mood. I fear mountain, than I love.
